Planting Ideas…….in minds and soil

logo-miniPlanting Ideas is an innovative plant science education company servicing primary schools throughout Ireland. We aim to introduce Irish school children to the fascinating world of plant science. Our classes are specifically designed to deliver aspects of the SESE (Social, Environment and Scientific Education) Science primary school curriculum as outlined by the Department of Education. The classes distil complex concepts hence making plant science accessible to all age groups within a fun environment. Our bespoke mobile science unit allows for flexible delivery of our tailored lessons within a busy school environment that minimises disruption, making Planting Ideas unique amongst school service providers.

We believe that a basic understanding of scientific principles and the scientific explanation of natural phenomena, together with an appreciation of the processes of sowing, planting and harvesting can make a positive contribution to children’s health, mental well being, society and the environment.

Our classes will enable children to cultivate a greater scientific knowledge and understanding of plant science, educate children on biodiversity, wildlife, the seasons, food production and impacts on the environment, and crucially, will help children understand they are part of a larger universe where they are just one part of the circle of life.

All our classes will be delivered by qualified horticulturalists who are Garda vetted and have detailed knowledge and experience of plant science. Each child will be provided with a worksheet at the end of the class to reinforce the learning objectives and the teacher will be given a guidance worksheet with follow on activities to augment the lesson.
