What is Planting Ideas?

Planting Ideas is an innovative plant science education company servicing the primary schools throughout Ireland.

What is Plant Science Education?

Planting Ideas aims to provide school children with the chance to discover the amazing subject of plant science and believes that once the seed of learning is planted we will cultivate a generation of children with a natural curiosity and appreciation of the world of plant science.

Are lessons designed to augment Science in primary schools?

Our lessons are specifically designed to deliver aspects of the SESE (Social, Environment and Scientific Education) Science primary school curriculum as outlined by the Department of Education.

How will it help children?

Our lessons aim to encourage children

  • To develop a knowledge and understanding of scientific concepts
  • To develop a scientific approach to problem solving
  • To foster a natural curiosity in the world around them
  • To develop enquiring minds
  • To foster an appreciation of healthy eating habits
  • To appreciate the contribution of science to our lives
  • To understand the precious nature of all living things and the importance of biodiversity

What age group?

Our age appropriate designed lessons cater for children from 1st class through to 6th class.

Are classes run for Junior and Senior Infants?

Currently our lessons are not designed to cater for children in Junior and Senior Infant classes. However we are happy to discuss any specific requests you may have.

How does a school make a booking?

A booking can be made by completing the online Book a Session form or contacting Karen or Marvyn by telephone or sending an email.

What school facilities if any will Planting Ideas need?

Our bespoke Mobile Science Unit allows for flexible delivery of our tailored lessons within a busy school environment thus minimizing disruption, making Planting Ideas unique amongst school service providers.

Are Planting Ideas staff garda vetted?

All our classes will be delivered by qualified Garda vetted horticulturalists with detailed knowledge and experience of plant science.

Is Planting Ideas insured?

Planting Ideas has the appropriate Public Liability and Products Liability Insurance cover.  A copy of the relevant policy is available for inspection as required.

What method of payment?

Payment can be made by direct online transfer or by cheque.
